Holi - do we really need it ?

These days, HOLI is incomplete without  :-

Chopping down trees,
Burning firewoods,
Throwing gulal (chemical power) thereby polluting earth,
Polluting water,
and making nuisance on the streets/roads without anyone objecting to it.
Have all of our rivers, ponds, lakes enough water in it and overflowing today; is greenery which is normally seen during rainy days still visible, are we sure tomorrow there would not be any demonstration demanding water ?

WE DON’T NEED

FESTIVAL LIKE “HOLI”

ANYMORE

IT IS ANTI-ENVIRONMENT

SAY "NO" TO HOLI

IT IS NO MORE "HOLY"

IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THIS DAY IS CELEBRATED AS ENVIRONMENT DAY AND THOUSANDS OF SAPLINGS PLANTED.......WHY NOT HAVE GREEN HOLI AND ENJOY ITS REAL FRAGRANCE, THE SAME WAY OUR ANCESTORS USED TO ENJOY !

KINDLY CLICK THIS SHORTCUT TO SEE HOW IT LOOKS AFTER HOLI :-

  1. very valid points you have raised here.... but again if some one starts going against the wave he has to face a lot, and here with this festival so many believes n Asstha is associated... so very difficult to do so as you suggested.

  2. hmmm...every Religion have few events which followers of that religion wants to celebrate...

There is no harm in it...but distroying properties or spending so much money on useless things are not at all demand of any religion...

So it is better to still celebrate the HOLI but keep it restricted...

My idea behind writing ‘above’ is clear : festival should be celebrated in its true spirit for which it has been designed by our ancestors. But I am sorry to say, it is not happening. The state of Communal-harmony, is well-known to all despite having festivals every alternate day. Business Houses are the ppl who are benefiting out of it.

During Holi, everyone is perturbed to find streets/roads blocked, whole night intoxicated rowdies driving motorbike rashly creating nuisance taking whole area for ransom. Civil authorities limit their role by simply watching everything like a mere spectator who are fearful of political intervention on taking preventive action. Is this what our God-fearing ancestors expected the fate of our festivals to be ?

Certainly discipline is needed to celebrate any festival. I favour imposing 144 Cr.P.C. strictly in order to have Law & Order under control.

Thanks friends for sharing your views.
